Medical Editor (Remote)

Our esteemed pharmaceutical client is actively looking for a skilled Medical Editor with experience in Medical Communications to join their forward-thinking team in a remote freelance capacity!

Our client's Editorial team primarily (but not exclusively) reviews branded material for the Medical Communications division. Content can include graphic/print design, digital (including websites, interactive pdfs, and presentations), videos, and medical education material such as slides and presentations. Editors not only review content, but also create annotations in links in PromoMats, so a high degree of comfort in PromoMats is essential.

This role reports in to the Editorial Team Coordinator, and is a remote, open-ended freelance contract. In order to be considered, candidates must have pharmaceutical / medcomms industry-related experience. An editing test will be given. 
 
Responsibilities:

  • Copyedit promotional materials for grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Ensure materials comply with AMA style, brand guidelines, and FDA rules and regulations.
  • Fact check content against source material.
  • Validate references to ensure they are current and meet reference criteria.
  • Prepare jobs for MLR submission using Veeva Vault PromoMats.
  • Collaborate with project manager, account manager, designer, copywriter, and other copyeditors as needed.
  • Manage own brand alignment and assist other editors as needed.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

 
Qualifications:

  • Experience level: Experienced
  • Bachelor's degree in related field (eg English, journalism, life sciences).
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience editing pharmaceutical promotional materials, preferably within an agency environment.
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience annotating and referencing.
  • Experience anchoring/linking in Veeva Vault PromoMats.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working across a range of therapeutic areas and product launches is a plus.
